Here’s another pic of him.

This one’s from yesterday when he was playing in his box. It’s the box that contained the scratching post. He likes the box more. Typical.

He’s been playing much with Adam and I today. I’ve been sleeping downstairs since he got here so there’s a sleeping bag in the room most of the time. He goes mental on it, seriously. I think it’s the sound it makes. He’s so cute.

He was sleeping on Adam up until a few minutes ago, he’s now napping on the sofa.

Actual human kitten!

He’s around seven weeks. We don’t have a name for him yet though, because we were expecting to get a female cat and haven’t been thinking of male names at all.

He absolutely loves everything shoe related, it’s insane. First thing he did when he came out of his carrier was go over to my Converse and start playing with the laces. Then we moved the shoes. Then he found them.

And just before, he was playing with my dad’s slippers and diving into them headfirst.

Picking and Choosing

With the kitten-acquiring date looming, me and my mum went down to the cattery on Sunday to see if there were any we were interested in. We’d been down a couple of weeks previously and had fallen in love with a pretty grey and white kitten:

But she was already gone this time. So we had another look round and came across another one we’d seen last time, one that I hadn’t really taken much notice of… ‘Poppet’.

I don’t much like the name… lol. But seeing as she’s only young I don’t see why we wouldn’t be able to change it. As I said, we saw her last time we went, but I didn’t really think much of her. I only usually really fall in love with torties when they’re mostly white… but I just love her, she’s so adorable. She’s got this bewildered stare and cute little white paw tips. She was found alone at about 5 weeks, she must have gotten separated from her mother/litter at some point. I’d really love to take her home.

We went on Sunday with the intent of reserving, but they said she hadn’t had her first vaccination yet and, justifiably, wouldn’t let us reserve her until she had. She’s getting it on August 13th, which would be fine… except that we’re on holiday when she gets it, and there was another couple interested in her.

My mum phoned up, and they told us that if we phone first thing on the Friday, we can reserve her, and go in to do the paperwork on Sunday.

So basically… it’s a race. I’m really determined to get her. Wish me luck.
